Hypopressives

The Hypopressive Method is designed specifically to target the core without inflicting detrimental pressure to the abdominal wall or pelvic floor.
It is a safe and effective low pressure way to reprogram the stabilising muscles of the pelvis and core, giving them the tone internally needed to keep the pelvis and spine stable, safe and pain free.

Why Hypopressives?

Hypopressive low pressure exercises will help with:
  • Reducing your waist
  • Toning the abdominals
  • Urinary incontinence issues
  • Hernia pressure on the abdominal wall
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Increasing pelvic blood circulation and thus better sexual function
  • Normalising posture and muscle tensions
  • Core muscle recovery after having a baby
  • Core recovery post prostate/pelvic organ surgery

How does it work?

The Hypopressive Method engages the tonic muscle fibres that comprise 75–80% of the core. The traditional exercises work a much smaller percentage, 3–4% of the exterior muscles fibres, not enough to do the job your abdominals and pelvic floor are meant to do.

Once trained, and with a maintenance program in effect, the tonic muscle fibres work continuously, even when at rest. This maintains the pressures of daily activities while creating a strong functional core.  Abdominals, pelvic floor, diaphragm and posterior muscles all work together work as a unit.
